A Hippitty Hoppitty Happy Easter Basket!

 I wanted to show you more detailed photo's of my Easter Basket, that was recently published in Create and Decorate Magazine! 

The wooden basket was perfect for this project, so I dressed it up to make the perfect Easter Basket. Graphic 45 Once Upon A Springtime patterned paper helped create the perfect vintage theme.

Waltzing Mouse has some wonderful vintage themed stamps.  I used the Rescue Remedies stamp set.  It matches perfect with Spellbinders Labels Four  die templates.

The edges of the tag were distressed, then the entire tag was misted with Tattered Angels Copper Glimmer Mist for an aged look.

The Labels Twenty-Two die template was placed over the patterned paper and aligned around the Bunny Image.  I cut/ebmossed Labels Twenty-Two and also created a mat behind the Bunnies using the next size larger die template.  The edges of each Label were inked for an added vintage feel.

I cut/ebmossed Rose Creations, curled the edges, layered and inked.  The scallop die cut border around my Easter Basket was created with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Edgeabilities. 

Wood is one of my favorite mediums to use mist on.  I chose Tattered Angels Copper Glimmer Mist to mist my Easter Basket.  I misted several layers, and allowed each layer to dry before applying the next layer.  The beauty of misting on wood, is that the glimmer mist almost floats on top of the wood and creates an amazing look.

Plastic Easter eggs were used as the base for my collaged eggs. I tore old book pages then dipped them in mod podge and layered them onto the eggs.  Air bubbles were smoothed out, and the eggs were allowed to dry on a non-stick craft sheet.  When they were dry I misted with Tattered Angels Copper Glimmer Mist.  They turned out so lovely.  They were so much fun to make!  My girls even joined in the fun.

Exciting News, and a Give Away!

I have some exciting publication news, and decided to give away some new Spellbinders die templates! Papercraft Inspirations contacted me and commissioned me to contribute to their Master Class series!  I was over the moon excited about this.  My Butterfly Card made the cover too.  I walked into Joann's Craft Store recently and spotted it sitting on their shelves.  Wow - talk about surreal.

Create and Decorate Easter Basket ~ This was a really fun project.  I used Spellbinders die templates, Graphic 45 paper, Waltzing Mouse Stamps, old book pages and lots of Glimmer Mist. 

CardMaker Magazine Blossom Card ~  Spellbinders die templates, felt, Pink Paislee paper, Nestabling and Chalkboard Mist.  There is a matching envelope as well.

A Wild West Thank You

I have to say this is one of my favorite cards.  It just really came together for me.  I created a quick tutorial, and wrote a little bit about Wyoming as well.

Tattered Angels and Stencils!

Tattered Angels paint products work beautifully with stencils, masks and die templates.  I created three projects for their blog this month to how you how easy they are to work with.

My first project started as a large manilla shipping tag.  I stamped  3 trees using a tree stencil, Midnight Rendezvous Glimmer Glaze, Pewter Glimmer Glaze, and Island Spring Glimmer Glaze.  I made sure to alter the height of each tree.

I misted with Twinkle Yellow Glimmer Mist, Bubble Light Green Glimmer Mist, and Icicle Blue Glimmer Mist.  I used several layers of glimmer mist colors to create depth.  The glimmer glaze acts as a resist and the glimmer mist wipes right off….brilliant feature!!

I misted the word JOY using Pink Paislee mistables chipboard font with Icicle Blue Glimmer Mist.  I stamped a snowflake on the tag several times, using Waltzing Mouse Christmas stamps.

Then applied Chandelier Glimmer Glam along the bottom and edges.  I added some bits of bling by Want2Scrap.  Then I noticed a beautiful piece of paper towel I had been using to soak up the excess glimmer mist.  So….I stamped and cut and folded it to look like crepe trim on the bottom of my tag.  Tulle was tied on the top of the tag.  I love how it all turned out!

This mini canvas that measures about 5 x 5″.  I painted on a thick layer of gesso, leaving brush strokes.  I misted with Patina glimmer mist, and painted the corners with Island Spring Glimmer Glaze.  I allowed those to dry.  Then I put my stencils in place and misted with Icicle Blue and Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Mist.  I love the wintry feel it created.

I cut/embossed white cardstock with Spellbinders Create a Flake Three, used the die template as a stencil and inked with chalk.  Wrapped some tulle around the bottom of the canvas and adhered my die cut snowflake.

This started as a plain kraft colored 12×12″ cardstock.  I dredged the edges in Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist, I laid my crown stencil down in the middle of the page, and misted the center area with Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Mist and Bahama Blue Glimmer Mist.

I misted the white butterfly crochet ribbon with L.E.D. Red Glimmer Mist.  I just love that pop of color.

I die cut Spellbiners Grand Peony Creations out of white cardstock.  Then I used the die template as a stencil and misted Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Mist with Bahama Blue Glimmer Mist.  I let the mist sit for just about 5 seconds, then used a paper towel and brayer to lift the excess mist off.  This helps with minimal seepage.

I hope these projects will give you some ideas and inspiration to give Tattered Angels paint products and stencils a try!

Courageous

I created this card as a masculine Father's Day Card complete with a quote from John Wayne.  It is a little out of the ordinary, but I really love the Back in The Saddle Waltzing Mouse Stamps and just couldn't resist using them.
