I am a romantic at heart.  I love mushy movies, candle light dinners with Aaron and talking and taking long walks together.

So right after New Year's Day....I start to think about Valentine's Day.  I just couldn't help but create this card.

Happy Holly Days!!!

I'm sure you're just as busy as I am this holiday season.  I have made an effort to get stuff done ahead of time and not wait until the last minute. lol  So far I've made 9 jars of Apple Butter, all the Christmas presents are bought but 2, the Christmas Cards are almost finished, my home is decorated and one Christmas program has been attended.  Whew!  I'm feeling pretty good about it all!

Here's a sweet picture of my Arianna Faith taken last night, right before her Christmas program.  She sang her heart out.  She has the most beautiful voice ever!

Ok, now on to crafting.......here are two projects I made recently for the Spellbinders Blog.  Candy canes seem to be my creative theme at the moment!

Want2Scrap Guest Designer ~ Felt Covered Holiday Journal!

It has been sooo much fun being Novembers Guest Designer for Want2Scrap!  I am over the moon about their fabulous products.

I created this Holiday Journal to hold all the letters to Santa, Christmas drawings, Gift Lists, photo's and journal entries of our memories.  

Supplies: Want2Scrap ~ Fleur de lis Rectangle red and silver rhinestones, Fleur de lis Rectangle Nestaboard,  Fancy Tags Two Turquoise Rhinestones, Fancy Tags Two Nestaboard and Funky Swirls White Pearls; Spellbinders ~ Fleur de lis Rectangle, Fancy Tags Two, Grand Labels Twenty Three, composition notebook, 100% wool felt by Felt on the Fly, red ribbon.

I left the Fancy Tags Two die cut blank to personalize with our family name or the year we used this journal.  You could also personalize it for a gift!

Is it just me.....or don't you just love how the light catches on the bling!!  It is so fabulous and makes the journal look so festive.

A Christmas Stocking

I am so honored to be the Spellbinders Guest Designer today!  I get to showcase the Classic Petal set.

I have had this felt stocking in my head for several months, and I have to say I just love it when something in my head, actually turns out like I wanted it to! LOL

I created a Christmas stocking out of wool felt.  I found this amazing woman who has amazing wool felt.  It is the most beautiful, high quality wool felt you will ever see.  The selection is incredible, any color you could ever imagine in 8 x12" sheets!  Please take the time to hop on over to Felt On The Fly Blog and Felt On The Fly Etsy.  Spellbinders die templates cut wool felt beautifully...just like butter baby!

(Try to ignore the Snoopy bandaid, cutting tomato's can require a trip to the ER if you're not careful! lol)

Here are a few pictures showing you how I created that fabulous little box I put in my stocking.

I love the large cutting and embossing plates that come with Spellbinders Grand Calibur Machine.  You can cut all the dies at once, then emboss all the dies at once.

The box will have embossed areas that make it really easy to see exactly where you will fold the box.  The pictures above show you step by step how to put this box together.  Use the die templates as a stencil and apply fluid chalk ink for added detail.  Attach the die cuts to the sides of the box, and adhere the tag to the top.

Tattered Angels and Stencils!

Tattered Angels paint products work beautifully with stencils, masks and die templates.  I created three projects for their blog this month to how you how easy they are to work with.

My first project started as a large manilla shipping tag.  I stamped  3 trees using a tree stencil, Midnight Rendezvous Glimmer Glaze, Pewter Glimmer Glaze, and Island Spring Glimmer Glaze.  I made sure to alter the height of each tree.

I misted with Twinkle Yellow Glimmer Mist, Bubble Light Green Glimmer Mist, and Icicle Blue Glimmer Mist.  I used several layers of glimmer mist colors to create depth.  The glimmer glaze acts as a resist and the glimmer mist wipes right off….brilliant feature!!

I misted the word JOY using Pink Paislee mistables chipboard font with Icicle Blue Glimmer Mist.  I stamped a snowflake on the tag several times, using Waltzing Mouse Christmas stamps.

Then applied Chandelier Glimmer Glam along the bottom and edges.  I added some bits of bling by Want2Scrap.  Then I noticed a beautiful piece of paper towel I had been using to soak up the excess glimmer mist.  So….I stamped and cut and folded it to look like crepe trim on the bottom of my tag.  Tulle was tied on the top of the tag.  I love how it all turned out!

This mini canvas that measures about 5 x 5″.  I painted on a thick layer of gesso, leaving brush strokes.  I misted with Patina glimmer mist, and painted the corners with Island Spring Glimmer Glaze.  I allowed those to dry.  Then I put my stencils in place and misted with Icicle Blue and Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Mist.  I love the wintry feel it created.

I cut/embossed white cardstock with Spellbinders Create a Flake Three, used the die template as a stencil and inked with chalk.  Wrapped some tulle around the bottom of the canvas and adhered my die cut snowflake.

This started as a plain kraft colored 12×12″ cardstock.  I dredged the edges in Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist, I laid my crown stencil down in the middle of the page, and misted the center area with Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Mist and Bahama Blue Glimmer Mist.

I misted the white butterfly crochet ribbon with L.E.D. Red Glimmer Mist.  I just love that pop of color.

I die cut Spellbiners Grand Peony Creations out of white cardstock.  Then I used the die template as a stencil and misted Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Mist with Bahama Blue Glimmer Mist.  I let the mist sit for just about 5 seconds, then used a paper towel and brayer to lift the excess mist off.  This helps with minimal seepage.

I hope these projects will give you some ideas and inspiration to give Tattered Angels paint products and stencils a try!

Gratitude Journal and Edgeabilities Video

I love the idea of being grateful for what you have.  It keeps you focused on the positive.  I've noticed many people on facebook and blogs taking the time to write about something they are grateful for everyday for 30 days.

I decided to create a Gratitude Journal along these same lines.  I created this one for the Spellbinders Blog.  I'm going to add some tabs along the side for each person in our family.  The girls are so excited to do this.  We might even include some art journaling, sketching, etc.

Handmade Holidays Blog Hop

Welcome to the Handmade Holidays Blog Hop!!!

Calling all crafters! We've gathered designers from some of our favorite manufacturers to show you ways to create something from the heart this holiday season. This 3 day Hop includes over 60 stops with inspiration brimming from every corner. Explore all the thoughtful and frugal handmade gifts you could make for the holidays, all in one place on this Hop!

I created A Christmas Mini Printers Tray.

This 7Gypsies Printers Tray measures approximately 6 1/2" x 6 1/2".  I smudged the edges of it with Colorbox Classic Pigment Ink, Cat's Eye Queue - Basic Silver.

JustRite Stampers have so many fabulous stamps.  I used Merry & Bright Cling Stamps and Deck The Halls Cling Stamps.

I used Clearsnap Cat's Eye Queue - Night Sky and blended the dark and light blue tones by applying the dark blue on the top and side of the stamp, then applying the lighter blue to the rest of the stamp.  It blends so beautifully.

I cut/embossed the ornament using Spellbinders 2001 Heirloom Ornament #3 (#1 being the smallest).

I used Clearsnap Top Boss Watermark Ink Pad and applied it directly to  Spellbinders 2001 Heirloom Ornament #4, then cut/embossed out of red cardstock by WorldWin Papers.  I quickly applied embossing powder by Sparkle N' Sprinkle, and shook off the excess.  I used a little paintbrush to brush off any fine grains of embossing powder.  Then I heat set the powder.  This creates a nice beautiful metallic edge.

The Holly Motifs cut/emboss beautifully out of white cardstock.  I used the Holly Motifs die template as a stencil and applied Clearsnap gold pigment ink directly to the paper in a circular motion.

I layered all the embellished die cuts.  The top Ornament was adhered with 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L.  This gives it a nice dimension.  I adhered the die cuts to the printers tray with 3D Foam Squares also.

The patterned paper is Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium.  It looks so vintage, I just love it.  I cut/embossed the postcard using Labels Twenty-Three.  Then inked the edges with ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad in Chestnut Roan.

I created die cut embellishments for each little shadow box.

I stamped the sentiment, aligned the die template around the stamp and cut/embossed, then inked the edges as well.  I applied Nestabling by Want2Scrap - Petite Scalloped Circle Small in Black.  I filled the shadow box with blue tulle.

Adhesive Sheets by Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L die cut beautifully.  I cut the sheet using Spellbinders 2001 Heirloom Ornament #2.  I peeled off the backing, which leaves the adhesive exposed.  I sprinkled glitter and then pushed it into the adhesive with my fingers.  I applied a bit of bling and adhered to the shadow box.

Harvest Card

I created a Harvest Card for the blog hop.  Unity Stamps and Spellbinders die templates work perfectly together.  They align so precisely, you are sure to get a perfect outline of the stamp every time you use the matching die template.

To begin, I coated the cardstock and manilla tag in two different shades of Glimmer Glam.  I used metal foil and glitter embossing powders as well, for a shimmering festive feel.

I love all the possibilities you can create when you can combine matching die templates and stamps!

 I love die cutting metal foil and using a Grand Impressability to create added embossed texture.

I also used embossing powder on the Maple Leaf and Pear stamped die cuts for extra dimension and sparkle.  You can see how lovely Spellbinders Edgeabilities create an elegant edge to the bottom of the card, and the end of the manilla tag.
