New Classes ~ Altered Art in the Gallery!

It's been a while, but we're having Altered Art in the Gallery again at Rocky Mountain Framing and Gallery in Wyoming!

Lots of yummy classes full of techniques!!!  We'll use Spellbinders Grand Calibur Machine, new Spellbinders die templates, and Tattered Angels products in all classes!

I'm totally Inspired!!....

I just got back from visiting my sister in Virgina and attending Donna Downey's Inspired Event in Concord, NC!!!  3 days of creating art from 8 AM until midnight with my mom and my sister.

I borrowed this picture from my sister.  Donna was such a gracious host.  She gathered some of the most inspiring artists to bring us some technique packed classes.  There were moments of frustration because I couldn't master a technique right away (it's the perfectionist in me), but I was totally blown away by the ideas, textures, and creations we made. 

The entire time was spent thinking outside the box...using various scrapbooking supplies and art supplies in totally unique ways!!  I really can't put into words how amazing the experience was.  And, lucky for me I got to share it with my mom and my sister - 2 of the most talented women I know!

My favorite old drafting table looks a little different these days...It's filled with new paint brushes, gorgeous fibers and ribbons that I just couldn't live without, an article on water color journaling, water colors, gesso, matte gel medium, clear tar gel, pumus gel, Golden's acrylic paints, Unity stamps, sticky back canvas, a sketch pad, Ten Second Studio's molds, and projects I have yet to finish from Inspired.

I have a ton of ideas whirling through my head.  I even have ideas on how to use these kind of art supplies with Spellbinders (TM) dies!  Creations are starting to pour out of me...so stay tuned!  I have vowed that I will not let this feeling go away.  I must create a smidge of art every day in some small way.  It clears my mind, relaxes me and feeds my soul.

Crackle Paint...

This class is jam packed with lots of techniques including stamping on fabric, altering sand paper, die cutting, using the NEW Wizard die cut machine, distressing, stamping, stamping on acrylic, distressing and binding!

Calendar Class with holiday tags

This class features a 12x12 perpetual calendar with rotating month and day!  The quote pocket allows you to switch out and change up all your favorite quotes.  The matboard frame allows you to change out the picture whenever the mood strikes you.  It's an ever changing, easy to manage calendar that will last for years.  (This project was inspired by Hiedi Swapp's perpetual calendar)

We'll also create 2 Holiday matboard tags that can also be used as ornaments.  We'll finish up with a stocking Christmas Wish card.  The tags have specific words of each wish.  (patterned paper shown for this project differs from class sample)

        Techniques include:  creating spinning calendar features, distressing, stamping, die cutting, using mod podge and a tissue sewing pattern.

You will receive an entire alphabet stamp set with this class!

"Everyday Life" Matboard Mini Album

This class has exclusively designed matboard covers, textured card stock, Tim Holt'z embellishments, hidden tags, 7 Gypsies vintage door knob, transparencies, sand paper and a bit of fabric..just to name a few.

Techniques include using Tim Holtz Crackle Paint; bottle cap smashing, die cutting, stamping on transparencies and fabric, using Tim Holtz texturizing hammer, creating a spinner, inking, distressing, making pockets and binding!

You'll get to take home a bottle of Tim Holtz crackle paint.

April 5th from 6p-11p at Rocky Mountain Framing and Gallery.  All proceeds will go to the Esther Ruckman fund to benefit cancer patients with travel costs to and from treatment.  This is a great opportunity to work on any art/craft project, chat with others, and just have some fun!  Plus, you'll be helping out a great cause.  Cost is $20, minus $5 for every class you take!  We'll have a drawing for a giveaway too!  Please tell any quilter, stamper, scrapbooker, card maker, quiller, photographer, drawer, painter you know.  This crop is open to anyone who wants to hang out with us and work on a project.  Thanks for passing the word.
