The two new Spellbinders™ products I am introducing today are I2-1016 Sea Scape Impressabilities and S4-272 Surf’s Up! Check it out!
I absolutley loved these 2 new products! I have created so many projects with them I just can't stop myself! I'll share more pictures of them in future posts. So make sure to check back often or better yet, subscribe to my blog!
To begin, I used 1016 Sea Scape Impressabilities™ and Core’dinations cardstock.
To create base of cover and back of mini album: Cut S5-019 Labels Eight #6 (with #1 being the smallest) out of Core’dinations cardstock. To emboss the Impressabilities™, layer a Master Mat, I2-1016 Sea Scape Impressabilities™, cardstock in the die, Tan Embossing Pad, Master Mat, then feed through the Wizard™. You will notice the gorgeous embossing that has occurred. Take the card stock out of the die template and sand with a sanding block as shown above.
To create base of all inner pages of mini album: Cut/emboss six S5-019 Labels Eight #6 out of your favorite Penny Lane patterned paper by My Mind's Eye. Lay out your pages as desired and glue them back to back to create a total of four two-sided pages.
Print out your photo's: I chose to print all of my photo's 2 1/2 x 3 1/2” using Adobe Photoshop Elements. I printed them out on white card stock on best quality setting.
Using S4-272 Surf’s Up die templates, cut/emboss 2 sets of Flip Flops in a coordinating My Mind’s Eye patterned paper. We'll use one for the cover, and one for page 3. I loved how the Copic Spica black pen added some glittery details.
Let's alter some Surf boards next!
I found the easiest way to use this die template as a stencil is to make a “mask” for it. Here's how: Cut/emboss a Surfboard out of heavy weight cardstock. Use your scissors to cut apart the de-bossed section of the surfboard. This will allow you to actually have 2 “masks” to use while stenciling your surfboard!
I also used S4-235 Fancy Tags for the cover, and applied a bit of Clearsnap blackbird Fluid Chalk ink. I used my Dymo label for the title.
Creating pages 2 and 3:
Line up the Surfboard die template over a picture that will fit within the surfboard size. Cut/emboss for a unique picturesque surfboard!
I used black Magic Mesh for an edgy masculine feel. Black matte buttons are used throughout as well.
Creating pages 4 and 5:
On page 4: I used 2 different widths and colors of ribbon, a tad of bling, a matte black button and a beach ball that was cut out of Core’dinations cardstock and then embossed with my I2-1016 Sea Scape Impressabilities™, just as we did for the front and back covers.
On page 5: I traced and filled in the debossed areas of the surfboard with the Copic atyou Spica black pen. I also used the atyou Spica pen to write “Carla” on the surfboard. Next I used Distress Stickles on the surfboard and allowed it to dry.
Cut and emboss the umbrella out of the pink striped Penny Lane patterned paper. Apply Rock Candy Stickles and allow it to dry.
Cut/ emboss/stencil with the Beach Ball as shown. You can use removable tape or create a mask for the sections of the beach ball die cut to successfully apply various colors to the embossed areas. Add a bit of bling and a matte black button.
Pages 6 and 7:
Cut/emboss/stencil surf board and beach ball die cuts as shown.
Reverse Stenciling Technique:
Apply ink to the cut edge side of the Umbrella die template as shown. Then cut/emboss with the Umbrella die template and pink patterned paper.
Use the Reverse Stenciling Technique to create the black and white surfboard. This time apply embossing ink on the die template, cut/emboss out of black paper. Sprinkle white embossing powder, shake off excess powder and heat with heat gun to finish. Layer photos, die cuts, magic mesh and other ephemera as shown in photo above.
The back cover is created the same way the front cover is.
The album is bound by using a Cropodile to punch 2 holes in each page. I inserted 2 silver rings and tied a bit of black ribbon on each ring.
I hope you enjoyed the Surf's Up mini album!
