I'm so excited to be part of Scrapbooks Etc - Craft It Forward Blog Hop!
Here's my take on it!
I love the idea of honoring our military heros. My Grandpa Tom served in World War II. He didn't talk about the war much, but I have a photograph of him standing in front of his tent, out in the jungle. What a brave man, what a hero.
Supplies include: Spellbinders Premium Craft Foil, S5-028 Nested Pennants, S5-029 Nested Lacy Pennants, S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand; Chandelier Glimmer Glam by Tattered Angels; 3D White Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L; Graphic 45 Le Cirque patterned paper; Jillibean Soup black letters; bottle caps; E600 Industrial Strength Adhesive; Creative Impressions Ribbon.
I was fortunate enough to volunteer with a group of parents who have lost a child. They formed a group called Stars in Heaven that met once a month for lunch. About a year ago they asked me to help them with creating memory scrapbook albums in honor of the child they had lost. We also created memorial Christmas Tree Ornaments. It was a wonderfully healing experience for all of us and it's something I'll never forget.
My next volunteer project is going to be meeting with grade school age kids during the school year to work on craft projects. I am a Counselor during the day, and love the amazing transformations I see when someone feels like an artist and gets to share their story as well.
I hope you get a chance to make a difference in your own community by donating your time or craft project. It feeds your spirit and lightens the soul.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
