Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!
I think being a mom is one of the hardest and best jobs I've ever had. Some days it feels like a job...and other's it seems so effortless. My girls and I went for a long walk on the trails today, ate ice cream, scrapbooked and laughed a lot. Hubby is making me chicken marsala for dinner. Last night Aaron and I watched "Yes Man". OMG did we laugh and laugh and then talked about it and laughed some more! LOL I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing day filled with lots of laughter.
Here's my Mother's Day I card I created today.
I used My Mind's Eye - Penny Lane paper, Spellbinders Wizard, Flower Impressabilities, Labels Four die template , Nested Birds die template, Sunflower Set Two die template, bottle cap that I smashed with the wizard, Colorbox Cat Eye pigment die ink, Coredinations Card Stock, Hero Art Stamps (floral background), Dymo label maker, black ink (which I use on everything:) and glue dots.
Techniques: Impressabilities Rock!
Most of them you can see just by looking at the card - cut, emboss and stencil. But, there are a few you might like to know more about. I cut the middle size nested bird, then left it in the die, placed it on top of flowers impressabilitie, then the tan rubber mat and embossed as usual. I turned it over and sanded it! That's why the bird is facing to the left.
I also cut apart my Impressabilities and stamped on them with a floral background stamp, with Staz On ink! You can also alter the Impressabilities with Copic Markers or Alcohol Inks. Impressabilities will eventually wear out, but they will last a very long time. They are so reasonably priced that it's fun to cut them apart, alter them and use them as embellishments too.
